Zachary Schafer is the Assistant Secretary for Policy at the Maryland Department of the Environment. In this role, he helps lead environmental and public health protection programs across air, land, and water. He brings more than 15 years of experience as an organizational leader, advocate, and entrepreneur, working at the intersection of politics and policy in infrastructure, public health, climate and environment, and labor and manufacturing sectors.
