Biography

Yannis C. Yortsos, born in Athens, Greece, in 1951, is a distinguished Greek-American chemical engineer and academic. He currently holds the Chester Dolley Professorship of Chemical Engineering at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering.

Notably, he served as the Dean of the Viterbi School of Engineering from 2005 through 2026, becoming the seventh and longest-tenured dean in the school's history and one of the longest-tenured engineering deans for U.S. research universities.
