Yael Schacher serves as the Director for the Americas and Europe at Refugees International. In this role, she applies her expertise in immigration history and law, with a particular focus on asylum and refugees.

Beyond her work at Refugees International, Schacher has an academic background. She has held a position as a Guest Professor in American Studies at Catholic University Of Eichstaett-Ingolstadt, where she taught modern American history and literature.
