Biography

William J. Hartman is a United States Army lieutenant general. Since April 3, 2025, he has served as the acting commander of United States Cyber Command, director of the National Security Agency, and chief of the Central Security Service. He also holds the position of deputy commander of the United States Cyber Command, a role he assumed on January 16, 2024.
