William R. White (born 1943) is a Canadian economist. He held the position of chairman of the Economic and Development Review Committee at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) from 2009 to 2018.
White is recognized for his foresight in flagging the wild behavior in the debt markets before the global financial crisis of 2008, also known as the Great Recession.
