William Hahn (1829–1887) was a German painter who gained recognition for his genre paintings depicting scenes of California. Born Carl Wilhelm Hahn on January 7, 1829, in Ebersbach, Saxony, he pursued his artistic education at prestigious institutions, including the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts and the Düsseldorf Academy.
Hahn later moved to the United States, where he became active in the art scene.
