Will Freeman is a Fellow for Latin America Studies at the Council on Foreign Relations. In this role, he focuses on analyzing democracy, security, and crime across the Americas.
He is currently writing a book for Penguin Random House/Thesis. This upcoming book explores how organized crime has evolved into a "parallel power" in Latin America and examines what this phenomenon can teach about the nature of democracy.
