Whitney Kent Newey is the Jane Berkowitz Carlton and Dennis William Carlton Professor of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he has been a professor since 1990. He is a distinguished econometrician, widely recognized for his significant contributions to the field. Newey is best known for developing, alongside Kenneth D. West, the Newey–West estimator.
