Biography

Matthew George Whitaker (born October 29, 1969) is an American lawyer, politician, and diplomat. He currently serves as the 26th United States Ambassador to NATO, a role he assumed in 2025 in the second administration of President Donald Trump. He was confirmed by the Senate on April 1, 2025, and sworn in two days later.
