Biography

William Falcon is the creator of PyTorch Lightning and the CEO of Lightning AI. His work focuses on making the building, training, and deployment of artificial intelligence more accessible to developers.

Falcon's path into technology was unconventional, beginning as a U.S. Navy officer in the SEAL training pipeline before a medical injury. After leaving the military, he explored finance, startups, and academia. He later co-founded and successfully sold an AI fintech company.
