Wang Chuanfu is a Chinese chemist, billionaire entrepreneur, and the founder, chairman, and CEO of BYD Company. Born in Anhui in 1966, he grew up in a poor farming family. He pursued higher education in metallurgy, earning a bachelor's degree in 1987 from Central South Industrial University and a master's degree in 1990 from the Beijing Non-Ferrous Metal General Research Institute.
His early career included a role as general manager at BAK Battery Co., Ltd.
