Val Matthew Emmich is an American writer, singer-songwriter, and actor. He is known for his work across multiple creative fields, including authoring three novels. Among his literary works is the New York Times best-selling young adult novel *Dear Evan Hansen: The Novel*, as well as the adult novel *The Reminders*.
As a singer-songwriter, Emmich has released over a dozen albums throughout a career spanning twenty-five years. His musical journey began early, learning guitar at age 15.
