Biography

Ufuk Akcigit is the Arnold C. Harberger Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago, Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics.

His research primarily focuses on economic growth and development, employing an interdisciplinary approach that integrates micro and macro economic concepts to explore the relationship between policy and innovation. He was promoted to a full Professor in 2019 and named the Arnold C. Harberger Professor in Economics and the College in 2020.
