Biography

Tor Wennesland is a Norwegian diplomat born on August 21, 1952. He holds a cand. theol. degree and joined the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1983.

Wennesland served as the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process from 2021 to 2025. Prior to this, he was Norway's Ambassador to Egypt and Libya from 2012 to 2015, and Norway's Representative to the Palestinian Authority from 2007 to 2011.
