Anthony J. Bates is a British business leader who currently serves as Chairman and CEO of Genesys, a position he has held since 2019. His extensive career includes significant executive roles such as President of GoPro, CEO of Growth at Social Capital, Executive Vice President of Microsoft, and CEO of Skype. Bates, a university dropout, was born in West London in 1967.
Bates began his career in 1986 as a network operator at the University of London Computer Centre, where he worked until 1992.
