Tirthankar Roy is an economic historian and Professor of Economic History at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He has been a faculty member at the London School of Economics for over 16 years. His primary academic focus is the economic history of South Asia.
Prior to his tenure at LSE, Roy received his education in India, attending Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan and the Centre for Development Studies in Trivandrum.
