Thomas Schön serves as the Beijer Professor of Artificial Intelligence at Uppsala University. His research focuses on building probabilistic models to enable machines and humans to automatically understand what is happening, and subsequently to control these processes. He aims to pursue both basic and applied research, with the latter typically carried out in close collaboration with industry.
