Biography

Thomas L. Kempner Jr. is an American investor and philanthropist.

He is a co-founder of Davidson Kempner Capital Management, a global institutional investment management firm that he helped establish in 1984. Kempner served as Executive Managing Member from January 2004 until his retirement from the firm in December 2019. Following his departure from Davidson Kempner, he founded Keewaydin Investments LLC in 2020, where he currently serves as president.
