Ryan Hass is an American foreign policy analyst who directs the Brookings Institution's John L. Thornton China Center and holds the Chen-Fu and Cecilia Yen Koo Chair in Taiwan Studies. His research focuses on U.S. policy toward East Asia, specifically U.S.-China relations, U.S.-Taiwan relations, the Korean Peninsula, regional security, and maritime issues.
