Terri Sewell is an American politician and lawyer who serves as the U.S. representative for Alabama's 7th congressional district, a position she has held since 2011 as a member of the Democratic Party. She is noted as the first African-American woman elected to Congress from Alabama and, alongside Martha Roby, was one of the first women elected to Congress from Alabama in a regular election.
