Biography

Yi Tay is a Senior Staff Research Scientist at Google DeepMind, a position he has held since 2024. His current work focuses on reinforcement learning (RL) and reasoning, with an interest in advancing humanity towards Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). He is based in Singapore and collaborates with teams in Mountain View, NYC, and London.

Notably, he was a co-captain and co-lead for the model training of the Gemini 2.5 Deep Think model, which achieved an IMO Gold Medal.
