Biography

Surangel Samuel Whipps Jr. is the President of Palau, serving since 2021 and re-elected in 2024. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Economics from Andrews University (1988) and a Master of Business Administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management (1992). He is an advocate for environmental conservation, economic reform, and maintaining Palau's diplomatic ties with Taiwan.
