Stefano Ungaro is a Research Economist at the Joint Research Center of the European Commission. He is currently on leave from Banque de France, where he previously worked. His research focuses on key areas including banking, the economics of financial innovation, international financial flows, and financial history.

Academically, Ungaro holds a PhD from Paris School of Economics and an M.Sc. from Bocconi University.
