Steven James Gold, born in 1955, is an American sociologist and professor at Michigan State University in the Department of Sociology, a position he has held since 1994. Prior to this, he was a sociology professor at Whittier College from 1985 to 1994.
Gold's research focuses on ethnic economies, international migration, the development of ethnic communities, visual sociology, and qualitative methods.
