Stephen Schneck serves as a Commissioner at the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom, a position he was appointed to by President Biden in 2022. In June 2024, he was unanimously elected to Chair the Commission. His public service also includes an appointment by President Barack Obama in 2015 to the White House Advisory Council for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. He also served as national co-chair for Catholics for Obama in 2012 and Catholics for Biden in 2020.
