Stella Assange, born Sara González Devant in 1983 in Johannesburg, South Africa, is a Swedish-Spanish lawyer. Her parents, a Spanish theatre director and a Swedish architect/town planner/artist of Cuban heritage, were involved in the anti-apartheid Medu Art Ensemble. Growing up, Assange lived in Botswana, Lesotho, Spain, and Sweden, with a family friend's killing by the South African Defence Force leaving a lasting impression.
