Stefan Rahmstorf is a German oceanographer and climatologist, currently serving as a Professor of Physics of the Oceans at Potsdam University since 2000. He holds a Ph.D. in oceanography from Victoria University of Wellington (1990), following his studies in physical oceanography at Bangor University. His research primarily focuses on the critical role of ocean currents in climate change.
Beyond his academic work, Rahmstorf is actively engaged in public communication about climate science.
