Biography

Stefan Ingves is a Finnish-born Swedish economist and civil servant with a long and distinguished career in central banking and international financial policy. He currently serves as Chair of the Toronto Centre’s Board of Directors and as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) since November 2021. Ingves holds a Ph.

D. in Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics, which he earned in 1984.
