Sophie Gilbert is a British-born writer and journalist who works for The Atlantic in Washington, D.C. She moved to the United States in 2007 from London and pursued her Master's degree in magazine journalism at New York University, during which time she interned for Vogue and Slate. Her articles have appeared in publications such as The Washington Post, The New Republic, and Slate, and she previously held the position of arts editor for Washingtonian monthly.
