Biography

Rashawn Ray serves as a Professor of Sociology at the University of Maryland, College Park, and is a Senior Fellow in Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution. He earned his Ph.D.

in sociology from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 2010. Following his doctoral studies, he was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy research scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, from 2010 to 2012, before joining the University of Maryland faculty.
