Biography

Skylar Tibbits is a designer and computer scientist who focuses on developing self-assembly and programmable materials within the built environment. He serves as the Co-Director of the Self-Assembly Lab at MIT and is an Associate Professor of Design Research in the Department of Architecture. Tibbits holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Philadelphia University, along with Master of Science degrees in Design and Computation and Computer Science from MIT.
