Biography

Sherman A. Jackson, also known as Abdul Hakim Jackson, is an American scholar of Islam. He currently holds the King Faisal Chair of Islamic Thought and Culture and serves as a Professor of Religion and American Studies and Ethnicity at the University of Southern California.

Prior to his current role at USC, Jackson was the Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Near Eastern Studies, a visiting professor of law, and a professor of Afro-American Studies at the University of Michigan.
