Shavkat Mirziyoyev was elected President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in December 2016, and subsequently re-elected in 2021, winning a third term in 2023 snap elections. During his tenure, he has introduced major reforms guided by the principle 'In the name of human honour and dignity'.
His 2017–2021 Action Plan focused on legislative and judicial reforms, economic liberalization, and social reforms, including improvements in healthcare and education.
