Shalanda Young served as the 43rd Director of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) from 2021 to 2025, making history as the first Black woman to lead the agency.
In this cabinet-level role, she was a member of President Biden’s Cabinet, National Security Council, and Core Economic team. She was responsible for managing the Federal Government’s annual $7 trillion budget, which covered expenditures ranging from Medicare to national security.
