Biography

Richard Lynn Scott is an American attorney, businessman, politician, and Navy veteran. He currently serves as the senior United States Senator from Florida, a position he has held since 2019. A member of the Republican Party, Scott was reelected to the Senate in 2024. Prior to his time in the Senate, he served two terms as the 45th governor of Florida from 2011 to 2019.

Before entering politics, Scott co-founded Columbia Hospital Corporation in 1987.
