Seizo Onoe serves as the Director of the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T) for the 2023-2026 term, having been elected at the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference 2022. In this role, he leads the Secretariat of ITU-T, an international body focused on telecommunication standardization.
Before his election to the ITU, Onoe built a career spanning over thirty years with the Japanese mobile operator NTT DOCOMO.
