Scott B. Sumner is an American economist. He previously served as the Director of the Program on Monetary Policy at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University and was a Research Fellow at the Independent Institute. Sumner also held a professorship at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Sumner is known for popularizing the concept of nominal GDP targeting through his economics blog, The Money Illusion.
