Biography

Sarah Friar is the Chief Financial Officer at OpenAI, a position she assumed in June 2024. Prior to this, she served as the Chief Executive Officer of Nextdoor, the neighborhood network, from 2018 through 2024, where she led the company to go public in 2021 under the ticker NYSE:KIND. Before her tenure at Nextdoor, Friar was the Chief Financial Officer at Square (now known as Block, Inc.) from 2012 to 2018.
