Santiago Peña Palacios is the 52nd President of Paraguay, having assumed office in 2023. An economist by profession, he brings a strong background in finance and public administration to his leadership role. Prior to his presidency, Peña served as the Minister of Finance of Paraguay and was a member of the Board of Directors for the Central Bank of Paraguay. He also held positions on leadership boards for Banco Amambay and worked as an economist at the Central Bank of Paraguay from 2000 to 2009.
