Biography

Samir Elhawary currently holds two significant roles within the United Nations system: Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator and Head of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Venezuela, and Chief of the Humanitarian Policy Section at UNICEF HQ. In these capacities, he is responsible for coordinating humanitarian actors to ensure effective responses to emergencies and for shaping humanitarian policy.
