Rustem Umerov is a Ukrainian politician, businessman, investor, and philanthropist. He is appointed to serve as the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council starting July 18, 2025, and previously held the position of Minister of Defence of Ukraine from 2023 to 2025. Umerov is a member of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and serves as a lead negotiator at NATO Defense ministers meetings.
