Keith Rupert Murdoch, born March 11, 1931, is a former business magnate, investor, and media mogul. He began his career after his father, Keith Murdoch, died in 1952, taking over The News, a small Adelaide newspaper. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Murdoch acquired numerous newspapers in Australia and New Zealand before expanding into the United Kingdom in 1969 with the acquisition of News of the World and The Sun.
