Biography

Rostin Behnam is an American lawyer and government official known for his tenure as the 15th Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) from 2021 to 2025.

He was initially appointed as a Commissioner by President Donald Trump in 2017. Following President Joe Biden's election, Behnam was designated acting chairman in 2021 and subsequently confirmed as chairman for a full term, a role he held until his resignation in February 2025.
