Biography

Sir Roger Penrose, born on August 8, 1931, is an English mathematician, mathematical physicist, and philosopher of science. He holds the position of Emeritus Rouse Ball Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford, is an emeritus fellow of Wadham College, Oxford, and an honorary fellow of St John's College, Cambridge, and University College London.

Penrose has made significant contributions to the mathematical physics of general relativity and cosmology.
