Roger Altman is an American investment banker, the founder and senior chairman of Evercore. He previously held significant roles in the U.S.
government, serving as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury in the Carter administration and Deputy Secretary of the Treasury in the Clinton administration. Born in Brookline, Massachusetts, Altman earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University in 1967 and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 1969.
