Biography

Robert Andres Bonta is a Filipino and American lawyer and politician currently serving as the 34th Attorney General of California since 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he made history as the first Filipino American to hold this office. He was appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom in 2021 to replace Xavier Becerra and was subsequently elected to a full four-year term in 2022.
