Richard Elliot Doblin, born November 30, 1953, is an American psychedelic drug advocate. He is the founder and president of the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). Doblin earned a bachelor's in psychology from New College of Florida and later a doctorate in public policy from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government in 2001. His PhD thesis, published in June 2000, focused on the "Regulation of the Medical Use of Psychedelics and Marijuana.
