Biography

Richard Barton is an American internet entrepreneur, recognized as the co-founder and co-executive chair of Zillow Group. He served as CEO of Zillow from its inception in 2004 until 2010, and again from 2019 until August 2024, transitioning to co-executive chairman. Zillow is noted for transforming how people buy, sell, rent, and finance homes.

Prior to Zillow, Barton founded Expedia within Microsoft in 1994, successfully spinning it out as a public company in 1999.
