Richard Lapchick is a human rights activist, sportswriter, and academic dedicated to leveraging the power of sport for social change. He currently serves as President of The Institute for Sport and Social Justice, an organization he established in 1985, formerly known as the National Consortium for Academics and Sport. Since 2001, he has also held the position of Endowed Chair of the DeVos Sport Business Management Program at the University of Central Florida, where he is a Professor.
