Richard A. Lowry is the editor-in-chief of National Review, an American conservative news and opinion magazine. He became editor of National Review in 1997 at the age of 29, chosen by the magazine's founder, William F.
Buckley Jr. Lowry was born and raised in Arlington, Virginia, and attended the University of Virginia, studying English and history. He served as editor of the Virginia Advocate, the school's conservative monthly magazine.
